Those times of day when the world shifts from day to night and vice versa is magical. It's those moments where the world can be a little out of focus, you can't really see that well, and there's infinite possibilities that open up. It's liminal and symbolic of change and of a faerie kind of magic.
Inspiration #2:
I know a strange, gigantic hymn
that heralds a dawn in the night of the soul...
by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer, translation by Bruce Phenix
I still don't know how or why I came across some translated snippets of Becquer's writing, but I love what I've seen. The first moment I read them I felt this winging, sweeping feeling inside me like a quiet song. It woke up that part of me that loves words, that loves weaving them into stories if only for those breath-taking moments when it all clicks into place and I've written something that even I find beautiful.
Of course, sometimes looking at writing like that makes me heavy-handed and I write something completely incoherent. The Struggle.
